What do you do to save money on Christmas gifts?
I use my discover points to get gift cards, coupons if I can, I hit up outlets for designer names. I bought a coach purse for my sister, 3 shirts for my dad, kitchen aid mixer for my mother, 2 shirts for a friend, teapot for my mother-law, 5 nephews toy’s, vintage picture frame for my aunt, my brother a quilt set and I only have like 2 gifts left to get. I think have only spent $180 of my own money and the rest were discover card point gift cards and coupons.
Any other suggestions, I may not have thought of? My husband wishes I would cut down even lower but I feel that I have got some fabulous gifts here for very little!
dont buy any at all…

I save money by shopping for Christmas all year long. I usually know who I have to get gifts for and I keep my eyes out for things that remind me of them through out the year. This year I’m making my niece a culinary kit. I was able to go to the dollar store and find a whisk, spatula, etc for $1 a piece. Her gift totals maybe $15 and I know she’ll love it. Gifts from the heart are the best way to save money. Personally I don’t need ”things”.

Because we have a pretty big family, we usually buy gifts for moms and dads and then do gift exchange for everyone else. Of course we do one separately for the kids as well. It helps everyone save money by cutting down on the gifts they have to buy.
You could also try setting a limit for every person and sticking to it. Or shopping at sales throughout the year so that you don’t get caught up in the Holiday sales which sometimes aren’t as great.

I start my shopping around September, so it doesn’t hit me all at once. I think you got some very good bargains there. Wish I could do that great on my Christmas shopping!! Cant wait ’til Christmas!!

For a woman you could make something . Buy a pair of wrist or elbow length black gloves, buy some fabulous faux rings, glue a yellow, pink or royal blue bow at the side of the edge of the wrist length gloves, on both pairs slip on a faux ring on the middle finger of the left glove and a ring on the third finger of the right glove, Fold insert tissue paper and box. For a man I would give a hair cut at a salon, or a trip to a spa,or those sham wow cloths, a great watch /change tray.To save money I look all through out the year and purchase stuff I dont wai until the Christmas season, by the time Christmas rolls around Im all done and theres money for us to go to the cabin during Christmas vacation.
